Rationale (04/99): The subsections 12.4.2 [over.unary] , 12.4.3 [over.binary] , etc. of the referenced section are in fact relevant.
An operator expression can, according to Clause 7 [expr] paragraph 2, require transformation into function call syntax. The reference in that paragraph is to 12.4 [over.oper] , but it should be to 12.2.2.3 [over.match.oper] .
