6.8.3 [basic.align] speaks of “alignment requirements,” and 6.8.6.5.2 [basic.stc.dynamic.allocation] requires the result of an allocation function to point to “suitably aligned” storage, but there is no explicit statement of what happens when these requirements are violated (presumably undefined behavior).
